A Programme of Activity (PoA) is a United Nations instrument which allows Clean Development Mechanism Projects to earn carbon credits more cost efficiently than by individual registration with the UN. A PoA is effectively an aggregator of carbon credits, bundling micro-CDM projects under a single platform, offering long-term cost saving benefits to solar light distributors.

CarbonSoft works with distributors of solar lamps in developing countries, providing these renewable energy projects with access to carbon credits. When the market price of a carbon credit is high, carbon revenue can make the lamps cheaper for the end consumer.

We want to make the carbon market more accessible. When our Programmes of Activity are registered, any distributor may use them to access carbon revenue, using any technology which passes the UN methodology for solar lights, AMS.III.AR.

Since July 2011, CarbonSoft have contracted with solar lighting distributors across Africa, India and the Asia Pacific.

We have helped 4 lighting manufacturers to certify their products for distribution in CDM projects.
